Doing Something New

This time of the year makes me think of family, friends and relationships. It is the time of year for me then everything is going great or horrible. I did my Wisdom course this November in NOLA, New Orleans, and discovered I am a drama queen. I recently had a conversation with a gentleman I thought I was dating. When I asked if he was pursuing me in hopes of creating a relationship leading to a long term commitment he said "NO. That's not how I see you". (OK, Actually it was a text but you get the gist.) In that moment, I would normally reply with something demeaning or harsh yet this go round I simply said "OK. Thanks. It would be best if you refrain from mentioning my looks when we speak in the manner that you do. I would not like to confuse the situation and make you uncomfortable." what came next was unexpected and in the line of the drama queen, he replies : I'll do one better, I'll never call or text you again. Please remove my contact info from your phone." Now at this point I may throw on the fireworks and cry or reply "how could you do this?!" yet this was different. I heard my self ask, "how old is that conversation?!" and instantly I replied "Thank you and I will honor your request. Have a great one!" 

 

It was something new and me living in a paradigm that I was not trying to fit into mine. Very freeing. I instantly got how it was easy for me not to choose suffering as there is always someone new and new adventures. I want someone who wants to play not takes their marbles away simply because we create a new game. Today I am free and am looking forward to what opens up next!

 

Hence, I am in action around my contribution of making things happen that were not going to happen anyway. I am taking on creating a new publication for the 35+ crowd who have always wanted a career in entertainment and sports sharing with them how it can all be possibile, simply by creating new rules with fun and ease!
